PROVIDENCE CUDDLERS GROUPS: HAND & FOOT TILES
DECEMBER 5TH 2pm, PROVIDENCE HOSPITAL
A one day event where we travel to Providence Hospital to visit the babies & friends that supported each other in the Cuddlers Groups this year. With parents help, babies put their signature on a clay tile by pressing their hand or foot into a soft clay tile. We bring our stamps and tools for parents to decorate around the edges to create a masterpiece for the Grandparents or yourself. Items made will not be ready in time for Christmas, however. After the event we carefully transport the tiles back to the studio, dry them slowly, then bisque fire them. Next we glaze them until the textured design is filled with glaze and then we wipe off the top surface to help the toes and fingertips show through. Back into the kiln for a final firing. Then we bundle them up, making them ready to pick up at a designated location on the Providence Campus.
